Subversive Teaching - Educators Under Cover | Alistar Bryce-Clegg | TEDxNorwichED
"It doesn’t matter if you are 5 or 155 years old, play is one of the most powerful facilitators of learning there is.
As educators, we should never underestimate or forget the power that effective play can have on the well-being and achievement of children and adults alike.
As our early education system becomes more about delivering ‘initiatives’ and conditioning children to be still and listen, we are risking the death of creative thinking, imagination and social interaction.
We must be subversive in our teaching – fight for the freedom of engagement through quality play. Appreciate the uniqueness of children and that one size never did and never will fit all.
To recognise that small actions can have big impact when it comes to engaging learners. Every storm starts with a single raindrop.
Let’s get subversive - It is time to create a storm!
